Copy anything you can see.
Select any text on your screen — a screenshot, a video, a PDF — and CopyVisible turns it into text you can copy, search, or speak. Entirely on your Mac.
£16.99 · Requires macOS 15 or later
One shortcut. Any pixel.
CopyVisible lives in your menu bar and turns whatever is on screen into text — instantly, and without a Dock icon.
Capture text from anywhere
Press ⇧⌘2 and drag over a screenshot, a video, a PDF, or any window that will not let you select text. The result lands on your clipboard.
On-device AI actions
Summarise, translate, fix OCR, or explain code from the result panel. Foundation Models stay on the Mac, and require macOS 26. Everything else works on macOS 15.
Runs entirely on-device
OCR uses Apple's Vision framework. History is a local SQLite database. There is no account, no sync, and no telemetry.
⇧⌘2
Press the hotkey
CopyVisible lives in the menu bar. The default capture chord is ⇧⌘2 — never the system screenshot keys. Both chords are rebindable.
Drag
Select any region
Drag over the pixels you want. CopyVisible reads that region with Screen Recording, then OCR runs on-device. Esc cancels.
Copy
Get a typed result
The result panel appears at your selection — or docked at the bottom. Copy, paste-as, speak, or treat it as plain text if the type is wrong.
Typed results, not a blob of OCR.
Detectors classify each capture — then Paste-as can reshape it as Plain, Markdown, CSV, JSON, or snake_case. A wrong type is one click back to plain text.
Stack traces lose prompts and timestamps, ready to paste into an issue.
Indentation stays. Gutter line numbers do not.
Rows and columns you can paste as CSV, Markdown, or JSON.
Emails, phone numbers, and dates become compose, call, or calendar actions.
A code in the selection decodes to a URL you can open or copy.
When nothing else fits — and as the escape hatch on every typed result.
Every capture, searchable.
CopyVisible keeps a local history of everything you've captured — searchable by text, source app, or time. Copy it again or have it read back to you in one click. Retention is 30 days, one year, or forever, and deletion is real.
Set it up your way.
Choose a floating result panel or a docked bar. Control what CopyVisible remembers, whether it launches at login, and exactly how long history sticks around.
Nothing leaves this Mac.
OCR runs on Apple's Vision framework and AI actions use on-device Foundation Models. History is a local SQLite database. There is no account, no sync and no telemetry — CopyVisible makes no network requests.
