Nothing leaves this Mac.

What CopyVisible does
CopyVisible is a macOS menu-bar app. On a hotkey you choose a screen region. The app reads the pixels in that region, extracts the text on-device, classifies it, and copies the result to your clipboard. A local history can keep the text and a PNG of the region.
What we collect
Nothing. CopyVisible does not create an account, does not sync, and does not send analytics, crash reports, or usage data. The app makes no network requests of its own.
Screen Recording
macOS requires Screen Recording so CopyVisible can read the pixels in a region you select after an explicit keypress. The image is processed on this Mac and never uploaded. A PNG of the captured region may be stored in the local history folder, and is deleted with the history row when retention expires or you clear it.
On-device processing
OCR runs on Apple's Vision framework. QR codes are decoded locally. Contact details are recognised with NSDataDetector. AI actions — summarise, translate, fix OCR, explain code — use on-device Foundation Models on macOS 26. They are labelled “requires macOS 26” on earlier systems rather than hidden.
Local history
History is a SQLite database on this Mac, with full-text search. You can turn it off, keep captures for 30 days, one year, or forever, and deletion removes the row and its screenshot file. FileVault, if you use it, is the disk protection — CopyVisible does not add its own encryption layer.
Feedback
The in-app feedback action composes an email in your own mail app. CopyVisible sends nothing by itself. You see the full payload before you press Send.
This website
copyvisible.app is a static marketing site. If you write to support@copyvisible.app, that message is email, not something the app collected.
App Store
Apple is the merchant of record for the Mac App Store listing. Apple's App Analytics and crash reports are OS-level and opted in by you — they are not collected by CopyVisible.
